What to expect from your treatment…

First of all, I am so glad you have found me. The fact that you are here is likely because someone I care for deeply has sent you my way, and I am so grateful. I take the fact that you are choosing me to support your healthcare journey very seriously, and in each treatment I aim to make our time together as beneficial as possible.

I only see one patient per hour, which means I am all yours during our time together. This allows for a very personalized experience that feels full of individualized attention.

The treatment space is downstairs, cozy and inviting. It’s the perfect spot to keep you cool on a hot summers day, and warm in the coldest days of winter.

Acupuncture

In an acupuncture session, you can expect a combination of acupuncture points that are unique to you and your needs; along with other modalities including acupressure, cupping, guasha, moxabustion and massage (see below to learn more about these modalities). The needles are left in the body for 20-30 minutes; depending on what we are treating, I may or may not leave you to have a nice relaxing snooze while the needles do their work.

Things that I regularly treat with acupuncture at my studio include: acute or chronic pain/injuries, migraines, women’s health (period issues, fertility, pregnancy, menopause), anxiety, sleep, digestion, and general maintenance for overall injury and illness prevention.

Acupuncture + Massage

My specialty - this treatment type is very unique. It allows for a very thorough and restful acupuncture treatment integrated with massage therapy.

This is the ideal treatment for those with complex or multiple areas of pain, those with fears about needles, or those looking for deep rejuvenation.

Facial Acupuncture

This treatment is truly something sweet. Expect a front body acupuncture treatment in combination with a full facial treatment including massage, guasha and needling to enhance the flow of Qi and Blood to the face. This allows tension to soften while naturally supporting the lift and tone of the facial muscles. This can be booked as its own 60 minute session or as a 30 minute add-on to your regular treatment.

*I diagnose and treat based on principles of Chinese Medicine and use modalities based on this science. This does not replace a trip to your dermatologist or aesthetician

Acupuncture For Kids

Bring your little ones (0-12 years) in for a 30 minute treatment. These sessions are individualized to your child’s comfort level, and involve a loving combination of massage, acupressure, tuning forks (a vibrational tool used to stimulate acupuncture points), needles (if wanted) and suggestions regarding diet and lifestyle. These sessions are perfect for kiddos with general fussiness, digestive issues, tongue tie/feeding issues, aches/pains.

When needling our kiddos, the needles are rapidly inserted and removed, so there is no retention and feels like a little prick.

Other Modalities

Cupping

Used in almost every one of my treatments, cupping is one of my favourite therapy types. It helps release the muscles directly, brings fresh blood to the area, and pulls on the bodies connective tissues promoting a deep release to the whole area.

*Cupping can be included free of charge in any session, or as its own 30 minute full body treatment

Moxabustion

Moxabustion/Moxa is a specialized treatment that is not used on everyone, but when you need it - it’s the BEST. It involves burning of the herb mugwart, and applying it near to or directly on the acupuncture points. It sends heat into the points and channels, creating warmth deep within the body.

Guasha

Guasha has been widely popularized by the modern beauty industry, and for good reason. When used properly, this tool is hugely beneficial for facial care. More commonly in TCM however, we use it to break up stagnation in tissues anywhere in the body.
